Co-branded cards
In 2013, VakıfBank offered special deals
with co-branded products to specific
customer groups. With these credit cards,
offered to residents of Şişli and Üsküdar and
Öğretmenim, ASES and Kamu-Sen Credit Cards
offered specially to professional groups, social
projects are supported. A certain percentage
of the purchases made with these cards are
transferred to the organization’s aid pool, the
assistance campaign or the union.
Şişli and Üsküdar Credit Cards offer up to 30%
discounts at member businesses determined
by Şişli and Üsküdar Municipalities and
offer up to five installments for tax and fee
payments. In addition, cardholders can support
social responsibility projects at no extra cost;
the donated funds are transferred to Şişli and
Üsküdar Municipalities’ social assistance pool
as the cards are used.
As one of the credit cards designed for
professional groups, ASES has been especially
designed for the members of the Police
Care Fund, Turkish State Railways (TCDD)
Foundation and Primary School Teachers
Health and Welfare Fund. In addition to
the services provided to other credit cards,
special discounts are offered at participating
businesses.
In addition to all services offered by other
cards, the Öğretmenim (My Teacher) Credit
Card offers the opportunity to the “100%
Support to Education” campaign carried out
by the Ministry of Education without any extra
costs during purchases.
Owners of Kamu-Sen Credit Card offered with
the opportunity to transfer a specific amount
of their purchases to Kamu-Sen (Union of
Public Workers) without any extra cost, along
with all services offered on other cards.
Pre-paid social assistance cards
In 2013, VakıfBank’s prepaid card and “Social
Assistance Card” projects continued with
the “41 Card” from the Kocaeli metropolitan
municipality and Sarıyer, Samsun-İlkadım,
Konya Büyükşehir, Konya-Karatay and Kadirli
municipalities.
Under the “Card System in Clothing” project
designed by the Kocaeli metropolitan
municipality to provide clothing assistance, the
Kocaeli Clothing Card was developed in 2013.
This card allows the exchange of clothing
for the amount charged to the card by the
municipality at the participating shops.
VakıfBank for universities:
Campus Card
VakıfBank continued to provide specific
solutions for universities in 2013 and
expanded its portfolio to cover Istanbul
Technical University and University of Yalova.
With this project, the aim is to provide on-
campus solutions and to help students learn to
manage their expenditure. Students can use
their campus cards, through turnstiles, at the
cafeterias, in parking lots, at the libraries of
universities as an ID and a payment tool.
Credit card for young people: Like Card
VakıfBank continued to improve the “Like
Card,” a product created especially for
university students. Like Card customers can
earn Likepoints as well as Worldpoints. In
the prize drawings made among Likepoint
earners, 45 iPad, 15 iPhone 5 and 3 Mini
Coopers were distributed in 2013. In addition
to drawings, customers can earn additional
Worldpoints at e-shopping sites and special
Worldpoints on their birthdays
Debit cards
Having a high share in the debit card market,
VakıfBank increased customer satisfaction with
new campaigns; continued efforts to increase
debit card usage in shopping were ongoing in
2013. Campaigns were launched to promote
and expand the use of the POSPara feature of
debit cards, which enables cash withdrawal at
the time of payment through POS devices.
In 2013, total annual turnover of debit cards
increased by 14%, while shopping turnover
rose 43% and the number of cards increased
7.5%. Debit card turnover reached TL 1,638
million in 2013, amounting to 7.39% of
market share.
