İsmaİl Alptekİn
Independent Board Member
Graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty
of Law in 1968, İsmail Alptekin started his
professional career as an attorney at Türkiye
Zirai Donatım Kurumu and then as an auditor
at TUBITAK. He has held positions as a Board
member at T. Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O. for two
terms (1975-1978, 1996-1997), a member of
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Council and
as a member of Parliament from Bolu for the
terms 21st and 22nd. He was also appointed
Deputy Chairman of the Parliament during
his terms in office. At the Ordinary General
Assembly Meeting in April 2009, Mr. Alptekin
was appointed as a member of the VakıfBank
Board of Directors. İsmail Alptekin is a
member of Corporate Governance Committee
and Remuneration Committee.
Halİm KanatÇı
Board Member
Graduated in 1976 from the Department
of Business at Istanbul İTİA (Economic and
Commercial Sciences Academy), Halim Kanatçı
worked at Garanti Bank for 24 years, including
13 years in executive positions, Finansbank
and as a branch manager at Toprakbank
for three years. He served as the General
Manager of Istanbul Marmara Eğitim Sağlık
Kurumları A.Ş., on the Board of Trustees at
T.C. Maltepe University and Deputy Mayor of
Istanbul / Maltepe Municipality from 2004
to 2009. Halim Kanatcı was appointed to
the Board of T. Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O. by the
Prime Minister on April 28, 2009. Kanatçı is
also a member of the Credit Committee and
Corporate Governance Committee.
* Halim Kanatçı was appointed to the Audit Committee on
December 2, 2014 and serves as a member of the Board.
Dr. Adnan Ertem
Board Member
Born in 1965 in Mercan, Adnan Ertem
completed his early schooling in Erzincan.
He graduated from Istanbul University,
Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of
Public Administration in 1987, earned his
Master’s degree in Political Science in 1990
and his Ph.D. in 1997 in Social Structure and
Social Change, both at the School of Social
Sciences at Istanbul University. Starting his
career as an Assistant Auditor at the General
Directorate of Foundations in 1988, Dr. Adnan
Erdem was appointed Auditor in 1991 and
Chief Auditor in 2002. Between 2002 and
2007, he served as the Deputy Manager at
the Regional Directorate of Foundations in
Istanbul. Between 2007 and 2010, Dr. Ertem
served as Deputy Undersecretary of the
Turkish Prime Ministry and in October 2010
he was appointed General Director of the
Turkish Prime Ministry, General Directorate
of Foundations. On October 27, 2010, he was
appointed to the Board as a Member at T.
Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O., Ertem is also a member
of the Bank’s Remuneration Committee and is
married and has two daughters.
