In 1988, when there was an upper limit of US$ 300 for
foreign currency purchases, VakıfBank provided cheaper
and safer foreign currency to its clients. In the same year,
to contribute to the growth and development of financial
markets, in addition to the Securities Center in Istanbul,
the Ankara and Izmir Securities Centers were opened.
The Bank launched Vakıf ’s Gold a year later as a new
investment instrument in VakıfBank’s portfolio.
